I want to share a painful problem.
There are Zyxel Keenetic Ultra and ZyXEL Keenetic Giga II routers that worked fabulously for more than a year until they hit 2015.And then, like in a fairy tale, Wi-Fi problems started: the connection began to intermittently. This can be several times a day, practically immediately after turning on the router or after 6 hours of operation, there is no exact periodical. If there was a connection, then the pings to the router gradually become higher than 2000 ms and then completely die and the connection hangs active, but in fact it’s dead.Interestingly, it’s a few minutes can come to life. But, usually, there aren’t enough nerves a reboot and I'm just stupid off-switching router.Iznachalno problem appeared to Giga II home wired internetom.Potom a couple of weeks on the job, which was connected to an Ultra Yota.
If at the time of a glitch you connect to the router via Ethernet, then the Internet works wonderfully on it.
I tried to change the routers in places - the problem persists regardless of the Internet source.
Firmware everywhere is the latest.
Tried to disable DHCP, change channel numbers.
I didn’t just try to disable the public visibility of SSID and filtering by mac-addresses(but since I tried to install routers in different places, this is hardly the case, although it’s purely symptomatic that the router starts to bend at some point over Wi-Fi).
Logs do not show anything terrible. Here is a screenshot for you:
I want to note that the moment the glitch with the connection starts begins at 9:22 and at that moment there are no red errors.Although I don’t know what the error means, which is visible 14 minutes earlier at 9:08 in the screenshot.
In general, people, can anyone come across or are ready to advise something constructive(except for “throw this Zyxel out of you”).It's just strange that the problem appeared after 1 year of use and immediately on three similar devices.
