Is it possible to indicate in the project description on GitHub that this project was created as a free alternative to an existing paid application with functions similar to those for a paid one in the comparison table, for example, or explicitly point to a paid application?

Thank you!

P.S.

An example of such a description is https://github.com/freescout-helpdesk/freescout/bl...

For example, I have an open source accounting system on a github, I just wrote - an alternative to 1C and other paid programs

  • Proud Plover, will you also give a bribe to the doctor to allow you to break the diet? – Panicky96 Oct 22 '19 at 21:01
If we take into account Russian laws, then it is definitely impossible.Unfair advertising in the most obvious form.
  • Explain pliz. Why unscrupulous? The network is full of comparisons of anything – Drug-Induced93 Oct 22 '19 at 10:07
  • [[beduin01]], I agree with you, moreover, this is an advertisement for a free product, but we’re probably mistaken... – Proud Plover Oct 22 '19 at 10:25
  • If you look from this perspective, you need to use the well-known advertising"cheats." To write incorrectly:
“Our product is twice as good as product X.
    Correctly write:
"In our opinion, our product is superior to other products"
"The 1993 Best Product by Alternative Gifted Dog Breeders Society"
    etc.

If the name of the paid product is a registered trademark, the copyright holder may prohibit the use of this name in your description.
