You need to create an image with integrated updates, drivers for different machines and two pre-installed programs, as well as system settings(change the theme, edit autoload) then you need to install this business on 10 machines. How is this easiest to do? distributions are licensed, but I don’t want to enter the code every time. You also need to install all the updates for XP sp3, but from the official site(I don’t know how to do it simply).
Conditions:
1.computers can be of different configurations
2.they will not be in the same local network
3.The Internet on these PCs either will not be or will be slow, so installation is mandatory from the image.

I think the simplest and most logical algorithm for this problem is the following:
1.Embed the necessary drivers into the original image using nLite.
2.Install this image on a virtual machine without installing additional software needed for a virtual machine(for example, vmware tools).
3.Install all updates, necessary software, make the necessary settings
4.Make a disk image with some software and then roll up this image from the autoloader.

If I think correctly, then 2 questions:
1.What program can make a disk image and then restore it by booting from a flash drive? Acronis true image can do this? The documentation shows how to recover from a bootable OS.
2.Do I need to remove the installed drivers before creating the image or something else?

I have the same problem.
I plan to install a server that will distribute the installation over the network(something like PXE).
While I was searching, I found OPSI(Open PC Server Integration) - a program that allows you to control Windows machines on a Linux server, including installing OS and other software.

There is a ready-made virtual machine(for VirtualBox, download the opsi4.0-servervm.ova file on the Internet).

  • I apologize, I forgot to clarify what is important to install from a flash drive, because Internet is slow there – Teenage Business Feb 22 '14 at 11:03
  • ok, I'll write how to figure it out – Teenage Business Feb 22 '14 at 11:04
  • Sorry, is the server located on the local network, or is there no local network in your environment?
And you can make the virtual machine at home and bring it on a flash drive :)
If you’re just using the same machine, try Acronis True Image...
